Double Yolk

Welcome! Here I share some of the things that make my life a little brighter–– music, language, family, travel, and nature––to name a few. My story is one of reaching for a little more bliss, peace, and joy each day. My story is one of getting far more than I ever expected; like getting a double yolk when you only expected one.

Civility Belongs to the Sky

The sky was so clear tonight. It has been for the past few.

I think of what Sexton wrote, about taking a crowbar and prying out the broken pieces of God within her.

I wonder if she succeeded–– in taking them out and then in putting them back together.

She calls it a civil war, this prying and conjoining.

I’m not sure I agree with her. I think we make things more difficult than we need to.

I think all it would take is one glance up, and God, no longer broken, comes rushing back in to fill the hole we wedged open within ourselves.

I hope I always keep my head turned upwards. I can’t express my gratitude for these days enough.
